GIVE KIDS THE WORLD! www.gktw.org Skeeter (my beagle) and I volunteer at a place called Give Kids The World here in Orlando when not fishing tournaments. It is a special resort where children with life threatening illnesses from all over the world come to enjoy Orlando and the many attractions. Each week the children catch several sunfish, bass, catfish, gar, and mudfish from the pond on the resort. After we catch a fish, Skeeter gently kisses the fish and then they are tossed back into the pond. Here is a picture of Matt. He was visiting Give Kids The World with his family and he caught his first bass on a hot dog. I think it was an Oscar Meyer brand in case you need to take notes. One evening while we were fishing from the dock, we all witnessed something special. Several giant bass were eating the sunfish we were releasing and tossing back. So here's a picture of one of the little minnows we caught that evening from the dock. Matt is hooked! He couldn't stop talking about the big fish he had seen that evening. This year I have donated the money from the Lunker award at the ESPN BASSMASTER event on Lake Champlain to Give Kids the World and plan to make more donations from my winnings in future tournaments.
